First off, I'd like to say that all in all what you've done so far is simply superb given what you had to do the work with. That you are doing it at all despite the limitations of lack of fancy tooling is most comendable indeed.

That said, on with the critique...

Generally, I agree with the comments about the bucket needing reinforcement, but from my perspective the base swivel mounting is far more likely to fail or bend than the bucket mounts. That looks like perhaps eighth inch wall thickness 2x2" tube on top and bottom anchoring the entire boom assembly. At minimun I'd weld a piece of 1/8" thick 1.5" L along the backs and maybe even inside top and bottom of those cross mounts. I'd also add some gusseting to the pivot mounts themselves.
Otherwise, looks super and I'll likely steal much of your design when I start to weld my own up.

Doc

My OSHA approved drill press that I used into my 50's for a lot of my project.

This thing would drill good sized hole however.

in the picture with the stick verticle and the bucket uncurled it doesnt look like the rod is fully retracted. is it? If not you could rip your linkage or mount off if you uncurl more than what is pictured. Looks good though
